Built from place
Stories drawn from the city itself.
City authorship
The city is not just where the Story happens.
CityStoreys doesn’t put stories in cities. It draws stories out of them.
A CityStoreys Story begins with the place itself — what it makes possible, and why that Story belongs there.
The city does more than supply the setting. It gives the Story a reason to exist.
See Toronto, differently.
CityStoreys exists to help people look again.
Not simply to spot what others miss, but to reconsider what deserves attention — and what that attention can make of a place.
A building can be a clue. A view can change the story.
Built for locals first
CityStoreys is built for locals, with visitors welcome.
A Story should reward someone who thinks they know Toronto already. Not with a postcard version of the city, but with a reason to look twice.
How Stories are made
Each Story begins with close attention to place.
We walk, research, test, revise — then walk again.
The place should shape what the Story explores and why it exists.
A good CityStoreys Story can only exist where it does.
If it could be moved somewhere else with cosmetic changes, it is not a CityStoreys Story yet.
An Urban Odyssey
We call it an Urban Odyssey: a Story played through a living city.
The comparisons are useful — walking tour, scavenger hunt, outdoor escape room — but none quite fits.
CityStoreys is a way to play with the city. Let the city answer back.
